Emma had been tutoring Jay for a month now without Chris having a clue; which was good for her. She knew if he found out he would hurt her really, bad maybe worse then before. She walked into the school when Jay came charging over to her in anger. He slammed her locker door shut and she looked up at him in disbelief. "What the hell?" Emma asked looking over at him.

"I failed a test," he said holding up the paper in his hand and she rolled her eyes at him.

"And that is my fault?" Emma asked crossing her arms and he lowered the paper down.

"Yeah it is," Jay replied. "Maybe if you taught me the right stuff everything would be fine," he said in a firm voice.

"I taught everything that was one that test," Emma began. "Maybe if you weren't so stupid," she said in anger causing him to raise his hand. She flinched away from him and he pushed her face slightly like he had hit her slightly laughing at her.

"You better do good next time," Jay said walking away from her and she looked down at the ground. She looked down at the floor before going to meet Chris for lunch. Emma was quiet the entire time during lunch and Chris was over talking with his friends.

"You okay Em?" Manny asked looking over at her and she nodded her head slowly. "Things bad between you and Chris?" She asked looking over at him rapping with his friends.

"No everything thing is great," Emma said with a smile. "Just like always," she said looking at Chris. Jay was laughing with his friends about the incident in the hallway when Alex and Amy came over to them.

"Man you got to hear this Alex it is hilarious," Towrz said trying to control his laughter along with the other guys. Alex looked over at her ex in confusion and he stopped laughing to tell his story once again.

"Me and Greenpeace were arguing cause she made me fail the test," Jay began. "She called me stupid so I acted like I was going to hit her and she flinched away like a total wuss," he said starting to laugh.

"How is that funny?" Amy asked with her arms crossed and Towrz came over wrapping his arm around her.

"Oh come on," Towrz replied. "I mean she acts like she is afraid of nothing but when someone raises their hand to her she flinches like the wuss that she really is," he said chuckling a bit and Alex slapped him across the face. "What the hell?" He asked looking at her.

"Alex," Jay said standing in between them. "What is your problem?" He asked looking at her in disbelief.

"You guys being assholes," Alex said in a firm voice. "You want to know why she backed away from you? Because her boyfriend beats her that’s right he beats her," she said in anger then realized she just spilled the secret.

Jay looked at Alex for a minute in shock and then looked over at the blonde sitting with her friends. He charged over to the DJ who was having a great time with his friends. Chris felt someone turn him around and a fist came into contact with his face. Emma stood up from the table as the two of them began to fight one another. Jay was slapping him, pushing him and hitting him as hard as he could.

"You like that!" Jay yelled looking down at the DJ. "Is that fun for you?" He asked in anger while his friends kept a look out.

"You told him!" Emma said looking at Alex who just looked away from her. "Stop it Jay!" She said pushing him away from Chris and the teachers came running out of the building breaking them up.

"Hogart, Sharpe and Nelson in my office now," Mr. Raditch said firmly and they followed him into the school. Chris came walking out of the room with a week suspension for fighting with Jay. He looked down at the blonde who avoided any eye contact with him.

"Mr. Hogart come in with me," Mr. Raditch said. "Sharpe go back to class I’ll call your mother in a minute," he said looking over at him and the DJ walked off down the hallway with anger flashing his eyes. Jay looked down at Emma who was shaking a little in fear then went into the room.

Emma went over to her locker after getting three days suspension for being in the middle of the fight. She closed her locker after getting some books out and turned to see Chris right behind her. "How could you?" Chris asked gripping her arm slightly.

"I'm sorry," Emma said with tears in her eyes. "She saw I didn't know I told her not to say anything," she said as he gripped tighter and slapped her across the face. Jay came around the corner just in time and Chris took off out of the school heading to his car.

"Hey," Jay said kneeling down in front of her and reached out to touch her face. "Come here," he said bringing her in the hug. Emma wrapped her arms tightly around him and cried in his shoulders. "It’s alright," he said rubbing her back soothingly. "Shhh," he said rocking her in his arms.

Jay parked in his car in front of the Nelson residence and they walked into the house together. She found a note on the desk from her parents saying that they were going on a trip to see Snake's family and took Jack with them. Emma had been feeling left out a lot ever since Jack had been born but just got used to it. "They left," Emma said taking of her sweat shirt wincing slightly.

"God," Jay said looking down at her bruises on her arm. "This is why you wear all those long sleeved t-shirts," he said looking at her arm and she nodded her head. "Look since your parents are going to be gone you can stay with me," he said in a low voice.

"No it’s alright," Emma said turning away from him. "I don't want to be more of a problem I mean I just got you suspended," she said looking at the table. "Along with my psychotic boyfriend," she said slightly laughing and he turned her to face him.

"Ex-boyfriend you can't go back to him," Jay said firmly causing her to nod.

"I know," Emma said looking down at the floor and he lifted her chin with his finger.

"Look you can either stay with me or I can stay here with you," Jay began. "But either way you’re not staying home alone," he said looking into her eyes and she sighed deeply.

"Let me get some things," Emma said heading down in her bedroom and he made himself comfortable on the couch. They went over to his not-bad-looking-well-better-than-she-expected house. "Wow," Emma said shockingly.

"What, you expected me to live in a trailer park?" Jay asked slightly laughing causing her to laugh too.

"Honestly yes," Emma replied. "No offense," she said looking over at him and he waved his hand in dismissal. She set her stuff down on the bed in the guest room and then walked into the living room.

"Want something to drink?" Jay asked looking over at her and she shook her head slightly. "Listen," he said coming to her. "You don't have to be afraid anymore I am going to take care of you," he said running his hand along her face.

"Why?" Emma asked. "I mean we've always hated each other," she began. "Why are you doing this?" She asked looking up at him and he turned away from her. Jay sat down on the couch and she sat down next to him.

"Because my mom used to get beat by my dad," Jay replied. "One day it got really bad, so bad that she was in a coma for three weeks and then he went to jail. She met this new guy now and he actually treats her good," he said. "The point is I’ve seen what you are going through and I’m not going to let him or anyone hurt you," he said in a firm voice and she kissed him on the cheek.

"Thank you," Emma said in a soft voice and he smiled over at her. She fell asleep in his arms as they watched TV and a knock came at the door causing her to jolt up.

"Its okay," Jay said softly. "It’s just the crew they always come over. Just go into the room and get some sleep," he said looking at her and she nodded her head slowly.  Emma walked into the bedroom to get some sleep and Jay went to go let in his friends.

"He's got her," Alex said walking past him. "I looked at her house I called all her friends," she said rambling.

"Chill," Jay said out loud. "She's here she's in the guest room asleep," he said in a soft voice.

"You let Treehugger stay with you," Towrz said only to be smacked in the head by Amy. "Ouch!!!!" He yelled rubbing the area.

"I'm going to kill the Wannabe DJ when I find him," Sean said in anger with Ellie still trying to keep him calm. "How bad is it?" He asked looking at his best friend who just looked down for a minute.

"She's got bruises everywhere," Jay began. "It’s not too pretty but she's going to be staying here until her parents get back from the trip; I don't think she should be alone," he said running his hand through her hair.

"Sounds like Jay is in love," Nick said mockingly only to receive a glare. "I'm just gonna get a beer," he said walking past him. They all sat down watching some TV trying to keep the volume down. There was a loud bang on the door and Emma walked out rubbing her head.

"Who the hell is it?!" Jay yelled from the other side of the door.

"Craig!" He yelled in response from the other side. "Let me in Jay!" He yelled out again causing Jay to open the door. "Thank God you’re okay," he said wrapping his arms around the blonde.

"Yeah," Emma said pulling away from him. "But God had nothing to do with it," she said looking over at Jay who just smirked. "How did you find me anyway?" She asked looking over at him and he pointed over at Ellie.

"Come on I’m taking you to the Jeremiah's," Craig said grabbing her hand but she pulled away from him.

"I can't and I won't," Emma said in a low voice causing him to look in shock. "Look I don't know what Chris is going to do but I know that if he is going to try and come after me the last place I need to be is at your house where Angie could get hurt," she said tears in her eyes.

"But," Craig said only to be stopped.

"But nothing Craig I am not going to put that little girl in danger," Emma said firmly. "End of discussion," she said walking back in the bedroom and he walked out of the apartment a few minutes later.
