WIYH One to Five

Every since the shooting at Degrassi nothing has been the same. Back in Wasaga the principal at the local high school decided to have a talk with the Degrassi principal Mrs. H. They both agreed that an exchange program would be a good idea. It would take the student’s minds off of the shooting incident that happened months ago. Although it wasn’t much and not everyone would be eligible to participate in the exchange it would give students the chance to forget what happened and meet the new student or students that were from the other school.

Mrs. H had to choose five students that would be eligible to be involved in the exchange. She chose Manny, Emma, Toby, Jimmy, and Chris. Mrs. H called the students down and told them about the program. Jimmy said that he didn’t want to do that because he was still getting used to people at Degrassi looking at him differently and going to a new school for a few months would only make things harder. Chris also said he didn’t want to go because his grades were slipping and going to a new school would be a hard adjustment to make seeing how it would be in the middle of the year. That left Manny, Toby, and Emma.

Meanwhile at Wasaga High the principal Mr. S also had to pick five students who were eligible to be apart of the exchange. He chose Christina Smith, Sarah McCarthy, Melissa Simmons, Jack Donovan, and for his last pick he couldn’t decide. Mr. S knew that Sean Cameron had just moved back with his parents from Degrassi but he left a lot of his friends so it might be a good idea for him to go visit if he is selected. Mr. S called all of the students down. The girls didn’t like the idea of exchanging schools because their grades would slip. They were kind of geeky so it was pretty obvious on why they didn’t want to go. That left Sean and Jack. Sean loved the idea of being able to go back to Degrassi but he had so many unresolved problems and things left unsaid that it would be a bad idea to go. This left Jack. Jack Donovan liked the idea of going to Degrassi. It would give him a chance to experience new things and he hated Wasaga High. Sean told the principal that whoever came from Degrassi could stay at his house for the few months they were staying in Wasaga as long as his parents agreed. Sean’s parents said it was fine.

Back at Degrassi Manny, Toby, and Emma were debating on who should go. Manny wanted to go for the guys and it wasn’t a good enough reason so her going to Wasaga High was out of the question. That left Toby and Emma to decide. Toby wanted to go so he could meet new people and start over with his life. He saw someone get shot and then he saw another die. His now best friend, Emma Nelson, was almost shot. It was devastating and he hating being in the school that constantly reminded him of that terrible day. It was also the same for Emma except that her now best friend, Toby Issacs wasn’t almost shot. Instead the love of her life was. Finally they came to a decision that Emma would go because she needed it more than Toby. Since the exchange student needed a place to stay Toby offered.

It was the weekend before Emma and Jack would be going to each other’s school. Jack would be living with Toby and his family while Emma would be living with Sean and his family. Jack most likely wouldn’t mind living with Toby and his family because he was sort of a punk rocker like Ashley and her boyfriend Craig so he would fit in fine with them. He also didn’t judge people by what they look like so because most people think Toby is a geek doesn’t mean Jack would. Chances are they would get to be really good friends. On the other hand, Emma and Sean is a whole different story. There would defiantly be a problem with that situation. Sean had said sorry on the beach that day Emma was with him and it meant a lot to her because of everything that had happened to the two of them together but then he just stayed in Wasaga. Emma was hoping they could become friends or something but that didn’t happen. He didn’t stay in contact with anyone except Ellie and that was only because he broke up with her. So basically they had a lot of unsolved problems and many unspoken words.

It was now Friday. Neither Emma nor Jack had to go to school because they were going to be driving to either Wasaga or Toronto. This way they could arrive at their destinations late in the afternoon and get settled in. Then the next day they could go to the school and get registered. It would all work out perfectly.

Of course Emma was going to be late getting to Wasaga. She didn’t know what to pack so she basically put most if not all of her summer and spring clothes into her suitcases. Then she packed her toothbrush, makeup, and all of her other girly things. Finally she was done packing and her mom drove her to the address her principal gave her. Emma was so happy that she was getting away from everyone at Degrassi. It wasn’t like she hated them it was just that they were driving her nuts about the whole Rick thing. Soon enough Emma’s smile faded when she pulled up to a house. Her mom looked over at her and saw how she looked sad.

“Emma what’s wrong?” “Mom are you sure this is the right house? I mean you could have taken a wrong turn or something.” Emma said hoping she was right. “No honey, this is the address your principal gave me. 297 Christina Lane.” Her mom looked at her. Emma still seemed upset. “Emma what’s wrong?” “Mom, this is Sean’s house.” Her mom gasped. “Oh, what’s wrong with that? I thought you two were good?” “We are well we were. No put it this way we were until he said he was staying. And I think he said he was sorry because of the Rick thing or something and I guess that’s why I forgave him.” “But Emma you have to live with him for at least three months. That is basically until school is over. You can’t back out of this now. It will be good for you. You two can spend time together. Now lets get going before they think something is wrong with us because we are just sitting here in their driveway.”

Emma and her mom got out of the car and got her suitcases. Then Emma went to the front door and knocked. A man stepped out followed by a woman. They both nodded their heads at Emma and her mom. She and her mom did the same back. It was kind of odd at first but then the man spoke up.

“I’m Mr. Cameron and this is my wife. And what is your name miss?” He didn’t know who the exchange student was all he knew was that it was a girl. “I’m Emma. Emma Nelson.” When Mrs. Cameron heard her last name her eyes shot out. She had heard Sean mention her as his friend who was almost shot. “Oh and this is my mom Christine.” “Hello Christine. Hello Emma.” Mr. and Mrs. Cameron said in unison. “Well Emma why don’t you go inside and get settled in. I will have my life show you were you will be staying. I want to talk to your mom. We will be in in a minute.” Mrs. Cameron took some of Emma’s suitcases and Emma took the rest. Then they went inside.

“So Emma I think you might no my son. Sean Cameron.” Mrs. Cameron said. “Well he attended my school before he came back here so yes I know him. Why? He isn’t here is he?” Mrs. Cameron just laughed. “Actually dear he is up in his room. If you don’t mind I am going to have him help you with your things because my back is getting soar. You know old people. Something always hurts.” Emma just laughed. “You aren’t old. But sure I guess Sean could help me.” Then Mrs. Cameron called her son down. He hurried down the stares.

“What mom? I was just-“ Sean couldn’t finish his sentence. His eyes widened. “Sean you know Emma. She is the exchange student. She will be staying here with us for at least three months.” Then Mrs. Cameron left to go back outside so she could talk to Christine and her husband. Sean and Emma were just standing there staring at each other.

“So Emma, how have you been?” Sean asked. “Fine. Not like you care.” She hissed. Emma hadn’t been there ten minutes and they would soon be fighting. “Look Emma I don’t like this just as much as you but you are living with me for the next three months so suck it up.” Emma was mad at his last statement but if she decided to yell back then they would defiantly fight so she didn’t. “Sean, that’s not it at all.” He looked confused. “Okay then explain to me why you just said I don’t care because I do care.” Emma was a little surprised that he said he cared but she figured he was just saying it so they wouldn’t fight. Instead of telling him why she said it she gave him an angry stare. “Where am I sleeping?” “Um well I told my parents that uh the exchange person could stay in my room.” “Okay well what’s so bad about that? You sound like you are upset or something. If you want you can stay in your room. It’s fine.” “Em-“ She made a face at him that warned him not to call her Em. Only her friends, family, and boyfriend could call her that and he was neither. “Emma I’m not mad at you staying in my room. Actually I am fine with it but you won’t be.” She looked confused. “Sean what? I am so confused. It’s your room and you are fine with me staying in there for the next three months which I get but why would I be mad about it?” “Emma there are two beds in my room right now. My parents didn’t tell me a girl was going to be staying with us so I said that the exchange person could stay in my room with me. Like roomies or something. So the reason you are going to get mad is because you and I are going to be sharing the same house for the next three months along with the same room. You can’t stand me so I don’t see how this is going to work. That’s why I will sleep on the couch.” Emma just stood there. “Uh no Sean you can’t sleep on the couch. I know I am the guest but I don’t want to kick you out of your own room. You can stay in your room with uh well with um me or I could sleep somewhere else.” Emma looked kind of sad. It was like she acted sad so he would let her stay with him in his room. It worked because Sean quickly said that she would stay with him in his room.

Chapter Two

That night there was a thunder storm. Sean went to go get a drink while Emma was still sleeping and then when he came back he saw her hugging her knees tightly rocking back and forth. He thought it was really strange. Sean went over to her bed and sat down beside her.

“Em I mean Emma what’s wrong?” She didn’t look at him. “Nothing is wrong. Why would you say that?” “Well for one Emma, you aren’t looking at me and two you are hugging your knees rocking back and forth.” She still wasn’t looking at him so he picked up her chin. “You will think it’s stupid.” Emma didn’t want to look at him so she looked back down to where she was looking before. “No I won’t. I promise.” “Fine I guess I will tell you. I am afraid of um well I am afraid of thunder storms. Lightning scares me and the thunder makes me jump.” Sean didn’t say anything at first so he hugged her. Surprisingly she hugged him back. “Emma you can sleep in my bed tonight okay? I know we probably shouldn’t but if you are that afraid then just sleep with me. Nothing is going to happen.” Emma bit her lip. “No Sean I can’t do that to you.” “Do what? Emma it’s fine. I can tell you are afraid of the storm so just sleep in my bed. Nothing will happen I promise.”

Sean walked over to his bed and Emma bit her lip. He looked over at her and moved over. Then Emma got up and went over to his bed. Sean was putting covers on both of them when his hand hit Emma’s waist. For a moment he rested his hand on her waist then moved it. Well he tried to anyway. Emma grabbed his hand and wrapped it around her stomach. So basically Sean was holding her which made them extra close. Sean’s hand twitched which made Emma think she shouldn’t have done that.

“Sorry I didn’t mean to it’s just…” Emma started to cry a little. “What? No it’s fine. My hand just twitched that’s all. But if you want me to move my hand then let me know. But it’s just what?” Emma turned to face him. Sean saw that was crying a little and wiped the tears away. “Sean I can’t…” “Can’t what?” Sean said. He didn’t know why she was crying or what she was trying to say but it was started to scare him. “I don’t know. I can’t say what I want to say to you but I have too.” “Em you can tell me anything.” “I know which is why this is so hard. I have kept this inside for so long because I couldn’t tell you. You left me right after you said sorry. I had no way of contacting you or anything. But I…” Sean felt bad. She was crying harder now so he wiped the tears away again. “I know I did that and I am so sorry but what is it? Tell me please?” She laughed a little before speaking. “I miss you Sean. I miss the old you. I miss your touch and your kiss and how you always made me feel special. There was just something about you that made me never want to lose you but then I lost it when you ditched me but then that day Rick tried to shoot me you risked your life for me. That’s when I realized I never stopped loving you and that the thing I loved about you so much was back.” Emma looked away from Sean. “Emma I miss you too. I wanted so bad to huge you back when you thanked me for saving your life. And then when I almost drowned I saw your face when I woke up not Ellie’s. But you need to know this one thing. I saved you because if you weren’t here today I would probably try to kill myself. I know it sounds scary and crazy but it’s true. Emma I love you so much and if you got shot and died I don’t know what I would do.” Emma was shocked. But what shocked her the most was that Sean had tears of his own coming down his face. “Sean you said love not loved.” He gave her a weird look. “Does that mean you still love me?” He smiled. “I never stopped Emma. I know we had our ups and our downs but it only made us stronger I think. But you are here with me for the next three months maybe even more so lets make the best of it. No fights or anything.” Emma nodded her head. Then it went silent for about five minutes. “So Emma do you really miss me kissing you and me touching you?” Emma nodded.

She then closed her eyes because she was tired. She felt hot breath on her face and when she opened her eyes Sean was about two inches from her face. “Sean what the-“ Emma was cut off by Sean kissing her. She didn’t pull back. Instead she got closer to him which made him roll on his back. Then Emma got on top of him and kept kissing him. After about five minutes Sean was on top of Emma. They were still kissing. Emma jumped a little when she felt something hard hit her leg. She then realized what it was.

“Sean stop. We need to stop. This is only going to go further and your parents are only down the hall.” “I know and I’m sorry. Lets just go to sleep okay?” She nodded and then cuddled up against him. Then they both fell asleep.

Chapter Three

Emma woke up first and just looked at Sean while he was sleeping. She was smiling and thinking about what happened the night before. But then her smile faded. There were some things Sean didn’t know about that Emma had done while Sean was gone and she wanted to keep it that way. Then Emma shifted a little in the bed and Sean woke up.

“Did I wake you?” “No I was just about to get up.” He got out of bed. “Em, do you want anything to eat, maybe a shower?” “I was going to take a shower about ten minutes ago but I was afraid.” Sean just burst out laughing. “What’s so funny?” “Emma afraid of what? I don’t think my parents will mind if you take a shower. Actually I think they would like that. Who would want a gorgeous girl who is staying in my house smelling bad because she was afraid to shower?” He said while still laughing. Emma threw a pillow at him. “Hey that’s not funny. That wasn’t what I meant. But gorgeous huh?” Sean smiled and threw the pillow back at her. They continued to do that until there was a knock on Sean’s door. Then Mr. Cameron came in. “Ah I thought you two were up. Well how about you go take your showers and get ready then I will take you out to breakfast.” “Sure sounds good.” Then Mr. Cameron left. “Sean you take your shower first because you smell.” Emma said jokingly. Sean threw the pillow at her once again. Then he walked up to her and kissed her. They fell on his bed. They kissed for a few minutes then stopped. “So Emma do I still smell bad? I mean you are kissing me.” He said laughing. “Uh you still smell.” She said with a smile. Then he got up and went to his closet to get some clothes. “Whoa. Sean Cameron isn’t all Eminem anymore? No more gangster clothes? Aw Sean I thought you looked kind of hot in those.” She said. “Oh really? Well I think you would look hot in um nothing?” He said laughing. “Ha ha very funny. Well go take a shower and hurry up.” Then Sean went into his bathroom and took a shower.

While Emma was waiting for Sean to get out of the shower she went through some of her things and found a bunch of old poems she liked that she copied from books.

Emma kept reading the two poems on the first page she found over and over again. They both were about Sean. The first one was basically just about how she always thought of him and still cared and loved him even when they broke up. And the second one was their final break up. He ignored her because he had a new group of friends and she was just some flat chested geek they didn’t like. But after everything that has happened between them she still finds herself falling back in love with him. It’s like a bad habit. She knows she shouldn’t go back to him but she does anyway. While she was trying to find the second page of poems she copied Sean came into the room.

”Emma what are you looking at?” She jumped. He scared her. “Nothing.”

Then she got up and left the room. Sean was just standing there. He knew going through her things was a bad idea but he wanted to see what she was looking at. After all they could tell each other everything and when he came in the room she hid the paper she was holding so he couldn’t read it. Sean searched through her things and came across the paper she was holding. He was positive it was the paper she was reading because it had a blue ink stain on it. Sean walked over to his bed and read the paper. His eyed widened a little when he was done reading it.

All he could think of was how much pain he had caused her. Then he looked over to where he got the paper from. There were a ton of pieces of paper. They probably were all poems about how she felt for him or how bad he treated her and that only made him feel worse. But he would make it up to her. He had too.

He waited in his room until Emma got out of the shower. She was taking a long time but she was a girl and they had to get all dolled up for nothing so he could see why she was taking so long. Finally Emma came in. Even with just sweats on and no make up she was still the most beautiful thing he has ever seen.

“Emma I want to tell you something.” “Okay what is it Sean?” He didn’t answer her at first. But then he gathered his thoughts and spoke. “Look I know I hurt you so many times but it is in the past right?” Emma was waiting for him to say something else but then realized he was waiting for her to answer him. “Oh, yeah it’s in the past I guess. Why?” “Well I know I hurt you but it was all in the past so I was hoping that since you are going to be living with me for a while that would could keep all of those things in the past and never mention them again. Kind of start off new again. Like we don’t know each other or something?” Emma thought for a moment. “Yeah I guess we could do that.” Then he nodded his head and walked out of the room so Emma could get dressed.

Chapter Four

Just so this is clear. I am not going to be writing about anything that happens at Degrassi with Jack Donovan. So I hope none of you expected to see him in future parts of the story. The only other part he will be in is when the three months is up and he tells his friends and family about his stay at Degrassi. Now lets get back to the story.

After Mr. Cameron took Sean and Emma out to breakfast he stopped by the school with them to register Emma. Emma was so happy. She got to go to school at Wasaga High with Sean. It wasn’t the best school Sean had told her but it was better than having people stare at her at Degrassi because of what happened to her.

Sean’s alarm clock went off and Emma was the first to wake up. She saw that Sean was still sleeping so she went over to his bed and hit him on the head with a pillow. Sean didn’t wake up to that or his alarm so she started rubbing his back telling him to wake up. Finally after about ten minutes he woke up.

“Sean you are really hard to wake up. We are going to be late if you don’t get up and get dressed now.” Without saying anything he got up and went to his closet and threw some clothes on. He didn’t care if Emma saw him getting dressed but then again he was still half asleep so he probably didn’t even notice. All Emma could do was stare at him. He looked so hot without his shirt on. Sean looked even better with just his boxers. And his hair. Oh how cute it looked in the morning, all messy. Then he left the room to brush his teeth and so Emma could get dressed. It was pretty warm out so she wore a black denim mini skirt with a white tank top and black flip flops. Her hair was in a pony tail with a few pieces hanging out. Then for some last minute touches she put on mascara and some perfume. After she was done Sean came into the room.

“Emma go brush your teeth then meet me outside.” Then Sean left and Emma went to go brush her teeth. When she was finished she walked outside to meet Sean. He was standing at the end of his drive way just staring into space. Sean didn’t even notice Emma come up to him.

Emma waved her hand in front of his face. “Earth to Sean? What’s with you? You are just staring off into space.” He looked at Emma and just smiled. “Sorry. I was just thinking.” “Oh? About what?” She asked. “You. Now lets go. We have to walk and normally I would have already left but you took to long.” He said. Emma just laughed and they started walking. “Sean am I supposed to meet you somewhere after school so we can walk home together?” “Yes normally you are but today I have to stay after and go to the library to do some research.” Emma’s mouth opened. “Sean Cameron doing research? Gee things really have changed.” She said laughing a little. Sean on the other hand didn’t find it funny. He even looked a little upset. He had changed and she was the reason for it. But he wasn’t upset because she was surprised he changed. It was something else but he just couldn’t tell her what it was. He actually forgot about what he normally does after school on Mondays and Tuesdays until Emma asked where she should meet him.

The rest of the walk was silent until they arrived at school. Everyone was waiting outside and when Sean and Emma walked up to the front steps everyone stared at Emma. All the guys thought she was hot and they could use someone like her at their school. The girls on the other hand were a bit jealous because their boyfriends were drooling over a “slutty piece of trash” as they would refer to anyone new who dressed or looked like Emma. Sean and Emma made their way to the front desk and Emma got her schedule and her locker. It was down the hall from Sean’s so if she needed anything she could just go find him and ask.

Throughout the day Emma was nervous. She was only in two of Sean’s classes and in those classes he acted like he didn’t know her. He didn’t introduce her to anyone but that was probably because he didn’t even sit near her. Sean kept his distance from her which was a little weird. He said a few days before that he wanted to start over and she didn’t think starting over meant that he would ignore her.

Lunch time came and she had no where to sit. Then she saw some girl walk over to her and tell her to follow her. Emma followed her to a large table. It was all girls. There were five of them. They were all really pretty but wore way to much make up and really skimpy clothing. But hey at least someone was befriending her so she could actually have friends at the school. Emma sat down and the girls introduced themselves.

The girl who brought Emma over to the table was Michelle Christianson. She was the leader of the group. “I’m Michelle Christianson.” She said to Emma. And when she did she let out a mysterious smile. Then the other girls continued to introduce themselves. “I am Christina McNulty and this is my twin sister Melissa.” Emma nodded her head at them. Then a really tall girl with long brown hair spoke. “I am Sarah Parker.” Once again Emma nodded. “And I am Sam Dun.” Emma nodded one last time then she spoke. “I’m Emma Nelson.” She said to the girls. Then the girls started eating their lunches and talking about gossip. Surprisingly Emma actually fit in and was having fun gossiping about people. Then lunch was over and the girls all walked to their next class together. Christina and Melissa walked off to class with Sam. That left Sarah and Michelle walking with Emma.

“So Emma are you new here?” Michelle asked. “Well yes but my family didn’t move here. I went to Degrassi. We had a shooting a few months ago and I guess your school wanted to do some exchange program or something.” “Cool.” Sarah said. “So who are you staying with? Some psycho family?” Michelle said laughing. As did Sarah. “Actually I am staying with my ex.” The girls quickly stopped laughing. “Oh Emma maybe something will happen between you two again.” Sarah said winking at Emma. “So who is prince charming anyway?” Michelle asked. “Oh um Sean.” The girls stopped walking. “Sean Cameron?” Michelle asked. “Um yes that would be him. Why? Do you know him or something?” Before Michelle could answer Sarah said something. “Oh she more than knows him.” She said laughing. Emma was a little confused but didn’t pay attention to it. “She’s joking about that. But I do know him. He is in some of my classes.” Then the girls continued to walk till they got to their next class. Emma and Michelle had class together and Sarah’s was the next room over. Once they were in class Emma sat with Michelle. It was math class and the teacher spit a lot so they sat in the back. Just as the teacher was about to speak Sean came in.

“Ah Mr. Cameron late again I see.” “Sorry. I had to take care of something.” Sean said. “Well take your seat so I can begin please.” Sean looked around and the only open seat was two in front of Emma and Michelle. When Sean saw them talking to each other his eyes widened.

Oh no. Michelle can’t be talking to Emma. What if she says something to Emma? She will hate me forever and things were just getting good. Throughout math class he kept looking back at the two of them and each time he did Michelle would wink at him.

Finally it was the end of the day. Emma walked home with Sam, Sarah, Christina, and Melissa. Their houses were a few streets down from Sean’s.

“So why isn’t Michelle walking with us?” Emma asked. Sarah remembered their conversation earlier and decided to lie. “Oh um she had to stay after school. Her grades are slipping and if she doesn’t keep them up she can’t go out and she gets us into all the parties around here.” Emma just nodded and the girls continued walking. They mostly gossiped. When Sean’s house came up Emma said bye to her new friends and walked up the drive way.

“Hello? Is anyone home?” Emma said as she went inside. “In here.” Mrs. Cameron said. Emma walked into the kitchen. “So Emma how was your first day at Wasaga High?” “It was good. Thank you for letting me stay here.” “It’s our pleasure. So was Sean good to you? He wasn’t to mean was he?” His mother said jokingly. Emma just laughed. “Sean was great. But I need to go start my homework. What time shall I come out for dinner?” Mrs. Cameron thought for a moment. “Whenever Sean comes home. He usually comes home around five so we will eat then.” “Okay but can I ask what Sean is doing at the school library till five?” Mrs. Cameron looked confused. “Dear he isn’t at the library. Sean at a library? Ha. What on Earth gave you that idea?” “He said he was going to be there after school but I guess I heard him wrong.” Then she went into Sean’s room and started her homework.

Mean while, back at school. Sean met up with Michelle and they walked to the side of the school that no one goes near. Then they started to make out heavily. After about ten minutes they stopped. “So I saw you with Emma today.” Sean said. “Yeah she is a cool girl.” She said. Michelle went to go kiss him but he backed away. “Michelle you didn’t tell her about us did you? She will kill me if she finds out. I have to live with her for three months.” “Oh poor Sean. If you don’t want her living with you then why did you say she could stay there? And why don’t you just make her life hell and then she will want to leave.” Sean just stared at her. “You are one cold girl. I can’t do that to her.” “Well that’s what you have more for.” Then she kissed him. They made out for the next hour and a half. Then Sean’s cell phone rang.

“Hello?” Sean answered. “Sean where are you? Your mom told me to call you and tell you to come home. She and your dad have to go out tonight and they won’t be back for two days and she wants to make sure you have enough money or something.” “Okay I will be home in a little while. Just need to finish reading this one thing for my project.” Then he hung up.

“Who was that?” Michelle asked. “Emma. My parents are going to be out for at least two days so it’s just me and her at my house.” He said with a smirk. Michelle hit him in the arm. “Hey I was joking. I wouldn’t do anything with her. I have you.” He smiled. Then kissed her one last time before walking home.

Chapter Five

When Sean got home his parents were in the kitchen. He walked into the kitchen and waited for them to say something. Finally after five minutes Mr. Cameron spoke.

“Sean your mother and I are going to visit Tracker. He and his girlfriend just got engaged. We might be gone for more than two days so we need to make sure you have enough money. How much do you have?” Sean stood there and thought for a moment. “I have enough money for tonight’s dinner and then lunch at school tomorrow. But that isn’t much. I eat a lot as you know and then there is Emma. I might need some extra money for food later on in the week just incase you guys don’t’ come back in two days.” “Alright then. Here is one hundred and fifty dollars. Spend it wisely Sean. I don’t want to come back here and have Emma tell me it was spent all for you or whatever.” Sean just stared at his dad. “Dad that’s not cool. But you two should get going.” Then his parents got up and left the kitchen to go to their car.

Sean walked into his room and found Emma doing homework. It was her first day there half way through the year and she was still doing homework at five o’clock. To get her mind off of homework and school he jumped on the bed and scared her. Emma let out a little scream then went back to her homework. Sean thought something was wrong. He thought for a moment about what to do next then he thought of something. He closed the books she had open on the bed and pushed everything on the floor. Emma just stared at him. Then before she knew what was going on he leaned in and kissed her. Then he pulled her on top of him. Emma realized what was going on and pulled away.

“Sean don’t.” He was confused. “What’s wrong? We were going to do this the other night but we didn’t because my parents were home. They are going to be gone for two days or more. We have the house to ourselves. We can do whatever we want Em.” “Don’t call me Em. It’s Emma to you.” Sean just stared at her in shock. What was her problem? PMS or something. Then he figured that was why she didn’t want to do anything so he laid off the subject. “Okay I’m sorry. But what do you want to eat? We can order out if you want. Or I can make my world famous PB&J sandwich.” Emma couldn’t help but laugh. “Ah see you are laughing. I can’t be that bad.” “Sean I never said you were bad.” Then Emma got up and walked over to his bed. Sean got up a few seconds later and followed her. Emma looked at him and smiled. She figured he was following her so she got up and switched beds again. Once again Sean followed her. Emma couldn’t help but laugh. Sean just let out a smile. Emma thought of something and then got up but this time she went to lean against a wall. Sean thought this was weird but followed her anyway. Emma looked at him and laughed a little. Then she turned to him and kissed him really hard. They continued to kiss for about ten minutes before the phone rang. Emma went to get it.

“Hello?” “Emma? Hey it’s Michelle. Is Sean there? I need to talk to him about something.” “Uh yeah hold on a second.” Emma went to go get Sean who was still leaning against the wall amazed at what Emma had just done. She was not one of those people who just did things like that because she wanted too. “Sean the phone is for you. It’s Michelle. She needs to talk to you about something.” Sean’s smile faded a little. “Okay. Stay here. I will be back in a minute.” Then he left the room. Emma decided to go into the kitchen hallway so she could hear what they were talking about. Emma could only hear what Sean was saying to her so it didn’t make sense. After he said “No not at all” she went back into his room because it didn’t seem too important.

“Hello? Michelle this isn’t a good time.” “Why not Sean? You said you wouldn’t do anything with her. Are you?” “No not at all.” He lied. He was and he enjoyed it. “Well I want to come over tomorrow.” “Michelle you know you can’t.” “Why not? Is it because she will be there? I can get one of the guys to talk her into staying after school with them or something.” “Um I don’t know. What if she doesn’t want too?” “Then we can do what we normally do. But I need to go. Parents want the phone. Bye babe. I love you so much.” “I love you too.” Then he hung up. He left so guilty.

He went back into his room to find Emma sitting there reading something. It looked like more poems. He didn’t get to see for sure what it was because once she heard footsteps coming towards her she crumbled up the paper. “Em what do you want to eat? It’s kind of late so do you want to just make something here?” “Do whatever you want Sean. I’m tired and I still need to finish my homework. Besides I’m not that hungry.” She said with attitude. “Um okay. No need to get a little bitchy.” Sean wished he didn’t say that. But to his surprise Emma didn’t argue back. “Well if you want anything let me know. I’m going to watch TV.” “What about your homework? Or was that done at the library too?” Emma didn’t know anything about Sean and Michelle. She was just joking around with him. Sean’s face went pale. “Relax Sean. I was joking. But I really don’t want anything to eat. And I am getting tired.” Few Sean thought to himself. For a minute there he thought she heard he and Michelle’s conversation.
