Emma walked into the school in another long sleeved shirt and headed over to her locker. Every one of her friends found it weird for her to be wearing shirts like this at the start of summer. Chris came walking over to her and wrapped his arm tight around her. She stiffened a little but then acted happy to see him and turned around with a smile on her face. "Hey," Emma said kissing him lightly.

"Hey," Chris said pulling her into a rough kiss and she didn't want to fight it. Because every time she fought him he would get really angry at her.

"Want me to walk you to class?" He asked gripping onto her hand and she nodded her head.

"Thanks," Emma said in a timid voice and he kissed her again. Emma walked into the class taking her seat and then he left to go to his class. She sighed in relief that he was gone and someone tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around to see Sean behind her.

"I'm glad to see you happy again," Sean said with a smile and she smiled back at him. Emma turned around to the front of the class thinking how wrong he was. The lesson began with everyone paying attention and getting started on their work.

Emma, Manny, JT, and Toby all decided to have lunch at the DOT that day to catch up on things. Liberty couldn't make it because she had to do some news meeting prep thing. Chris hadn't seen Emma since he walked her to class so she just assumed that he went to practice. They were talking a laughing with each other about something Toby had once done.

"Hey," Toby replied. "At least I was trying," he said in a firm voice and they continued to laugh.

"You almost drowned," Emma said holding onto her side and then he started laughing with them. Jay, Alex, Sean, Ellie and the rest of the crew they hung with looked over at them.

"What are they so happy about?" Alex asked with a glare in her eye and Jay just smirked over at his ex. They had broken up about a week ago deciding it wasn't going to work out between them but would still remain friends.

"I have no idea," Sean said shrugging his shoulder and Ellie looked over at the blonde.

"Anything on her father yet?" Ellie asked in a soft voice.

"Who cares," Jay began. "It’d make it a lot easier on me if he was dead," he said in a cold voice and Sean kicked him from under the table. "What? It would," he said taking another bite of his burger and then turning back to his other friends.

Manny and Emma were paying for their food when they came walking up to the counter. "Look Alex, it’s the slut who got an abortion and her dork friend Greenpeace," Jay said with a smirk on her face and Manny looked down at the floor.

"You never say that to her again," Emma said getting into his face and he just laughed at her.

"What are you going to do about it?" Jay asked with a glare in his eyes and she grabbed a shake off the counter. She pulled opened his pants and poured the shake down the front of them. "SHIT! You bitch!" He yelled causing everyone around him to laugh, even his friends.

"That's what I’ll do," Emma said grabbing a hold of Manny's hand and heading out of the door. Toby followed right behind them along with JT who turned to the badass of Degrassi.

"You might want to take that to cleaners," JT said, only to receive a glare and then run out of the door. Jay went back into the bathroom to go get cleaned up and then headed back to the school.

"I can't believe you did that," Manny said as they stepped in front of her locker and said goodbye to their friends. Chris came walking over with a very angry look on his face. "Oh Chris you won't believe what Emma did today," she said with an excited voice and he looked at her.

"I don't really care," Chris replied. "We need to talk," he said in a firm tone.

"That's my cue to leave," Manny said walking away from them and heading to her last class.

"What's up?" Emma asked looking at him and he slammed her locker shut. "You could have gotten my arm!" She yelled looking at him in shock and he grabbed her arm tight looking around.

"Where were you today?" Chris asked. "I waited by your locker for a half an hour like an idiot," he said letting her go and she closed her eyes slightly. The last bell finally rang leaving the hallways completely empty and she looked over at him.

"I just thought that you were going to be with your friends," Emma began. "I wanted to catch up with mine so we went to the DOT," she said in a shaky voice and he kissed her firmly.

"Don't do it again," Chris said before walking away from her and she ran into the bathroom. Ellie saw her running into the bathroom as she came around the corner heading for her class that she was going to be late for. She walked into the bathroom and found her crying.

"Are you okay Emma?" Ellie asked kneeling in front of her. "Is it your dad? Is he okay?" She asked trying to figure out the problem.

"It’s nothing my dad if fine," Emma said standing up. "Me and Chris just got into a fight and I am a little upset," she said wiping away her tears and Ellie nodded her head slightly.

"I know how that feels trust me," Ellie said looking down at the sink.

"No you don't!" Emma shouted then walked out the door and went to her class. She was soon called out of class to the office and sat down in front of the principal seeing Jay next to her.

"I walked into the school seeing the mess on Mr. Hogart and he told me you were the cause of it," Mr. R said folding his hand. "Is this true Emma; did you do this to him?" He asked looking over at her and she leaned back in her chair.

"Someone had to shut him up and since you weren’t doing anything about it I did," Emma said with arms crossed. Mr. R nodded his head slightly and then pulled out a slip. "What's that?" She asked looking over at him and he handed it to her.

"Detention for a week and you need to apologize to Mr. Hogart," Mr. R said looking over at her.

"Sorry," Emma replied. "Can I go now?" She asked looking over at her Principal and he nodded his head. Emma walked out of the room and he followed her. "Thanks a lot," she said turning to face him and he just crossed his arms.

"Welcome to the dark side," Jay said patting her head and she slapped his hand away.

"Guess you aren’t such a badass after all," Emma said smirking up at him and he arched his eyebrow at her. "I mean you had to get little Mr. R to stand up for you so sad," she said walking away from him and he just glared after her.

"I can't believe they gave you detention," Manny said leaning against the locker. "I'm sorry," she said with an apologetic look.

"Don't worry about it no one talks about my best friend like that," Emma said giving her a small hug. She walked down to the detention room and sat down in the seat next to Spinner.

"You going to the skate park?" Spinner asked in a whisper and she just shook her head. "Come on you haven't been in weeks and everyone misses you," he said softly causing her to turn.

"I can't I have to babysit again my dad is getting another round of chemo," Emma said with a saddened voice. Jay, Alex, and Sean came walking into the room and Jay sat down next to her. "Get lost," she said glaring over at him.

"Why are you so tense?" Jay said brushing some hair out of her eyes and she smacked his hand away. Sean grabbed his shoulder motioning him over to the other side of the room and mouthed a sorry to Emma.

"Leave her alone," Sean said in a firm voice as they sat down.

"Aww dose Seany boy got a thing for Cause Girl," Alex said slightly laughing at her.

"No she’s just been through a lot," Sean replied softly. "And I think there is something else going on with her. She doesn’t smile anymore," he said looking over at her and Jay acted like he was playing the violin. Sean rolled his eyes and turned away from his friends.

After detention everyone headed home except for Alex who had to get some books out of her locker. She heard some arguing down the hall only to see Emma and Chris.

"Trouble in paradise," she said with a smirk and then her eyes widen.ed Chris had taken his hand smacking the blonde hard across her face sending her to the ground crying.

"Don't you ever talk to me like that," Chris said firmly. "I'll be waiting in the car," he said walking away from her and she went to pick up her things that he had kicked. Alex went over to her quickly and she looked up with her tears stained eyes.

"You okay?" Alex asked handing her the books and she snatched it away.

"Why do you care?" Emma asked starting to walk away.

"I saw him," Alex said causing her to stop and turn. "I saw him hit you," she said gently as possible only to have her look away. "Emma you have to tell someone before you get really hurt," she said coming closer to her.

"No I can't. He only does it when he gets angry," Emma said looking down. "I just got  to remember not to make him mad and everything will be fine; it will," she said in a firm voice and Alex's just shook her head.

"No it won't," Alex said gripping her arms causing her to wince slightly with tears falling from her eyes. "I know my mom goes through it everyday with her boyfriend," she said softly.

"Please just don't tell anyone," Emma said softly. "If you know what its like then you know telling will only make it worse . . . I gotta go," she said in a hurried voice and headed out of the school. Alex watched her get into the car with Chris and they sped out of the parking lot.

"Alex! Come on!" Amy yelled motioning her over and she got into the car.
